The potato in the boot

A snowy walk, a pair of borrowed boots, and a surprise from Leona’s dad’s childhood.

English translation

When Leona’s dad was a child, he went to visit Aunt Phyllis. It was snowing outside, and he was still wearing sneakers.

Aunt Phyllis lent him some boots, although they were a little too big. Then everyone went outside for a walk.

There was a bridge with a step, so he lifted his foot high to step over it.

As he walked on, his foot began to hurt a lot. But Aunt Phyllis said, “Don’t take your shoes off.”

Samuel’s foot hurt so much that he could not bear it any longer, and he took off his boot.

Then he turned the boot upside down, and out came a little potato!
